This shows Scamander out of the water in the boat shed at Kilifi, Kenya coast North of Mombasa. The old name has still to be painted out. Hulls being sanded down ready to apply Copper Epoxy underwater and yellow to topside. Decks and cabin will be kept white with a dark brown on the toe rails and rubbing strakes. The new engine box which fits under the front three main beams. The front half is an anchor and warp storage with a chute for stowing an anchor for short legs. There are two views of this.
Another view of the anchor chute. The engine box from aft. The galvanised steel bearers inside, will be hung directly from the beams and will support the engine. The hole for the shaft coming out of the back of this has not been cut yet. The new cockpit getting a coat of paint standing on its front end. The deep V below will support the Sillette Drive and act as a thrust box. The shaft from the engine box will come under the centre cabin pod and through this thrust box.
